The World's Most Overrated Musicians
August 26th 2009 23:16
I never quite got Oasis.
Mind you I never understood the band Yes or the attraction of Madonna - who really did 'jump the shark years ago'.
The Jonas Brothers are about as shallow as street puddle and while Kurt Cobain earns cred as a lyricist and vocalist he was a very ordinary guitarist and frankly hugely over-rated.
50 Cent is more marketing than substance and as for Eminem - well I'm sorry - Enim-who?
While they may sell millions - there's a galaxy of glitz vs genre of genius out there when it comes to music - why even the late but very much underrated George Harrison has been well documented in expressing his disdain for not only Bono but U2.
So who are the world's most overrated musicians?

He seems to live off the whole Hot August Night album for a long, long time didn't he!
Sure Cracklin Rose et al were catchy little ditties - but in essence - yep - probably a bit over the odds as far as things go.

I didn't mind Queen to be honest - a legacy almost of the glam rock era and of course the gay community's following of Freddie Mercury ensured sales kept ticking over.

Don't remember using the word hate. Simply overrated.
