Cite just about anything by Tony Orlando and/or Dawn, Cher or Donny and Marie and you can see my point.
It goes some way to explain why baby boomers are still angry, angry people - having been subjected to songs such as Chirper Chirper Cheep Cheep, The Monster Mash and Rick Dees Disco Duck were a torment that even 30 years can't erase.
