Rock Poll - Do You Agree With This List

August 17th 2009 05:42
John Lennon
John only just cracks it for a listing in the Top 10.
A few weeks back a Rock Poll was compiled folliowing a call put out to on-line readers to submit their picks for their favorite singers.

Some are expected but there are also some real surprises just to show how diverse the rock community really is with the top 10 spanning decades but leaning towards harder rockers.

Think you can guess who came out as No. 1?

Yeesh, this list makes me cringe! If we're going on pure vocal ability, Ann Wilson deserves to be at least in the top 20..Jeff Buckley was one of the most incredible vocalists of the last few decades and should also be much higher on the list. "Collective Soul" at 57...that's not even a person! It bugs me that Billy Joe Armstrong is on the list because the guy can't sing. Who answered this poll man? And why did I let it get under my skin? I must be feeling particularly cantankerous tonight

Can you believe Aretha at 88 - yet Paul Stanley at 45?

Is there no justice left?

I'm still getting my head around how Kate Bush achieved such a high ranking?

What's with that?

As for Bono and Springstein just scraping in . . . I'm sorry, I still can't get my head around Weird Al's ranking.

Don't worry old boy - respondents had probably never heard of Sam Cooke, Billy Joel or what was that 'other' Elvis' surname?

I have to admit I don't know half of the people on this list either. I'm actually riveted that Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum made the list. How long has it been since they were relevant?

Anonymous you are a Bryn wannabe!

Then again, finding some easy cash on my doorstep would never be a bad thing....Bryn didn't offer that!

James R- honey, if a list including Robert Plant, Jim Morrison, Johnny Cash and John Lennon makes you feel old, I wonder if you may be slightly exaggerating. Hmm? Come on?
