Is Lady Gaga - Ga Ga?
Rumour and innuendo follow this diva (if we can call her that) as trashy tabloids and journalists look for a quick and easy piece of celebrity - pontificating all the while on whether Lady Gaga is everything from just a misunderstood piece of pop art, to a genuine musical talent or even a hermaphrodite.
Inspired apparently by glam rock musicians such as David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, as well as pop music artists such as Madonna and Michael Jackson Gaga has also stated fashion is a source of inspiration for her songwriting and performances - which given she's sold over eight million albums and over thirty-five million singles worldwide is as good a reason as any I guess.
Gaga managed to dodge much of the paparazzi yesterday as she slipped away without making a scene causing fans who had been waiting to see their idol at the airport to miss out in getting a glimpse of the notorious star.
She didn't completely want to be ignored though, as she made her way through the airport complete with soda cans curled in her hair.
So what makes this woman tick?
Is she the new Madonna? Is she a genuine talent? Is she a he? A triumph of marketing over substance? Or is she just gaga?
