Paul McCartney and the Power of Twitter
July 20th 2009 03:35
It's amazing just how fast word travels - particularly when a pop icon such as Paul McCartney is involved.
Folloing on from rumours 10 days ago that McCartney would be playing a suprise mini-concert atop the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York - the social networking site Twitter (along with a little word of mouth) set the PR balls in motion - ensuring the ex-beatle would have a crowd on hand for the 5.30pm gig.
Reminiscent of the famous Savile Row rooftop performance by the Fab Four in the late 60's - the concert just happened to co-incide with a taping McCartney was making for the Late Show with David Letterman.
